Like Netflix and YouTube, Amazon stores a history of videos that you watch on Amazon Prime Video. Amazon uses this data to improve your recommendations. But you can delete the videos you’ve seen from the history.
Time needed: 2 minutes.
- Go to the Videos page
- Click on “Settings” in the upper right corner of the screen
- Click on the “Watch history” option
- Click on the “View watch history” Button
- To remove a video from your playback history, click on the “Remove this from the viewed videos” link below the video here
How to Delete Watch History on Amazon Prime
To see your playback history, go to the Videos page you have seen on the Amazon website. If you are not logged in to your Amazon account in your browser. You must log in to continue.
You can also find this page on the Amazon website by going to Amazon.com in your browser. By placing the mouse on «Accounts and lists» in the upper right corner of the home page and then clicking on the «Your main video» option. On the main Video page, click on “Settings” in the upper right corner of the screen. Click on the “Watch history” option and then click on the “View watch history” button.
This page shows a complete history of all the videos you’ve seen on Amazon. With your most recently viewed videos at the top.
The list shows the videos you’ve seen using your Amazon account on any device. Whether on your smart TV, Roku, iPhone, Android phone or web browser.
To remove a video from your playback history, click on the “Remove this from the viewed videos” link below the video here. Amazon will forget that you watched the video. So it will not be used for recommendations and people will not be able to see it in your account’s viewing history.
Remove the videos you want from this page. To see more videos you’ve seen on this account, scroll down and click on the “Next” button at the bottom of the page.
You can also rate videos by clicking on the stars to the right of a video. If you want to keep a video in your history, but do not want it to influence your recommendations, you can also select the option “Do not use for recommendations” to make this happen.
Unfortunately, Amazon does not offer a way to erase all your viewed history with a single click. If you wish to erase your history completely, you must remove the videos from this list one by one.
You can also remove the products you’ve seen from your Amazon browsing history.
